Re: Blacklands Farm and Certified First Aid Course
On Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th October you son/daughter will be taking part in Oriel’s first ever inter-community challenge at Blacklands Farm as well as completing a certified first aid course run by Forever First Aid
At Blacklands Farm your son/daughter will be taking part in climbing challenges, indoor climbing, aeroball and team building challenges to gain points for their community. Whilst half the year group is at Blacklands, the other half of the year group will be taken off timetable and will be completing a certified first aid course located within school.
On Tuesday 16th October, Africa and Americas learning communities will be going to Blacklands Farm whilst Australasia and Asia will be completing their first aid course.
On Wednesday 17th October, Australasia and Asia learning communities will be going to Blacklands farm whilst Africa and Americas will be completing their first aid training course
When your son/daughter attends Blacklands Farm they will need to do the following:
- Arrive to school for 8am, register outside by the reception were they will be given a group and a coach number. Go to the main hall and sit with their coach number. The coach will be leaving at 8.20am and returning at 3pm.
- Wear Oriel PE kit. This will include their Learning Community coloured top or purple PE polo shirt, black shorts/skort. Tracksuit bottoms, fleeces or rugby top for the boys and appropriate footwear for the activities. And a coat should also be taken.
- Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water for the day.
When your son/daughter is attending the first aid course they must register with their mentor first at normal time and then go down to the School Hall for their session. The first aid course will be during normal school hours and students MUST wear normal school uniform.
All students will be attending both sessions and they will have a very enjoyable and informative couple of days.
