Via triathlons, fun runs, tough mudders, half marathons, parkruns, charity bike rides etc. Oriel staff have raised over £2500 in the last 7 months and we are aiming for £5000 by September. Lots of members of our school staff have been running, swimming and cycling in a whole range of events to show their commitment to our fundraising aims.
Deputy Headteacher, Miss Everitt is about to embark on running a double header of marathons – Brighton Marathon (15/04/18) followed by the London Marathon just a week later. Two marathons in 8 days she must be bonkers!
St Catherine’s Hospice who do such incredible work and rely upon charitable donations for much of it. When staff from the school visited them recently they was really surprised to discover that less than a third of their funding comes from the NHS and in fact, for them to do the work they do, they require in excess of £14,000 of charitable donations on a daily basis!
To really appreciate the impact that your donations for our staff efforts are having please read the patient stories here. They are very moving. They also are extremely motivating for staff to continue to push on with challenges that they thought were beyond them. Our challenges are nothing compared to the ones faced by both patients and their family members who rely on the hospice at the most important of times.
